Cookie Authentication May Fail with Cookie Enabled Browsers

SYMPTOMS

When you use a third-party browser, such as Opera, Site Server fails to recognize that the browser can accept cookies and redirects the user to the No Cookies error page.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when a browser sends a user agent string that does not start with "Mozilla" and the user agent string contains "compatible" without "MSIE."

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Site Server 3.0. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS

This problem was first corrected in Site Server 3.0 Service Pack 3.

MORE INFORMATION

All "Mozilla" compatible browsers (not just MSIE anymore) will now be considered cookie-enabled browsers.
