FIX: You cannot play back media that has copy protection for recordable media (CPRM) on Windows 2000

SYMPTOMS

When you play back media that has copy protection for recordable media (CPRM), you may receive the following error message:

The DVD key exchange for copy protection has failed. Playback is not possible.

This error occurs when you use a CPRM compatible device on Microsoft Windows 2000.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the error codes that handle this condition are not available on Windows 2000.
