When you run the IIS 6.0 Migration Tool on the destination computer, you experience the following symptoms:
CAUSEThis issue may occur if the root of the drive on which the operating system is installed on the source computer is not shared as an administrative shared resource. For example, the operating system is installed on drive C on the source computer. If drive C is not shared as drive C$, you experience the symptoms that are mentioned in the "Symptoms" section. RESOLUTIONShare the root of the drive on the source computer as an administrative shared resource. For example, if the operating system is installed on drive C on the source computer, share drive C as drive C$. MORE INFORMATIONThe IIS 6.0 Migration Tool is a command-line tool that automates several of the steps that are needed to migrate a Web application from an existing installation of IIS 4.0, of IIS 5.0, or of IIS 6.0 to a clean installation of IIS 6.0. The tool transfers the Web site content, the configuration data, and the application settings to a new server that is running IIS 6.0.
