INTRODUCTION

This article contains information about how the Internet Server API (ISAPI) filter notification process has changed in Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) 7.0.

In earlier versions of IIS, the SF_NOTIFY_URL_MAP event handler is invoked before the SF_NOTIFY_AUTHENTICATION event handler during the ISAPI filter notification process. However, in IIS 7.0, the SF_NOTIFY_AUTHENTICATION event handler is invoked before the SF_NOTIFY_URL_MAP event handler during the ISAPI filter notification process.
