On This PageSYMPTOMSConsider the following scenario. Internet Information Services (IIS) 6.0 receives the entity body for an HTTP POST request from a client computer. At the same time, an application pool is recycled. In this scenario, the HTTP POST request may be disconnected. Therefore, you may receive an error message that resembles the following on the client computer: The underlying connection was closed <Date Time><Client_IP: Port><Server_IP: Port> HTTP/1.1 Method URI - SiteID Connection_Abandoned_By_AppPool ApplicationPool %SystemRoot%\System32\httperr\ CAUSEThis problem occurs because the Http.sys driver stops processing requests for the application pool that is recycled. RESOLUTIONHotfix informationA supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing.
