SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. Internet Information Services (IIS) 6.0 receives the entity body for an HTTP POST request from a client computer. At the same time, an application pool is recycled. In this scenario, the HTTP POST request may be disconnected. Therefore, you may receive an error message that resembles the following on the client computer:
The underlying connection was closed
When this problem occurs, the following error message is logged in the HTTP error log on the server computer:
<Date Time><Client_IP: Port><Server_IP: Port> HTTP/1.1 Method URI - SiteID Connection_Abandoned_By_AppPool ApplicationPool
Note By default, the HTTP error log is in the following location:
%SystemRoot%\System32\httperr\

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the Http.sys driver stops processing requests for the application pool that is recycled.
