SUMMARY

In Microsoft Outlook 98 (Corporate or Workgroup) using Microsoft Exchange Server, you may want to return to the previous functionality of using the Inbox Assistant (Server-side rules) instead of using the new Rules Wizard

MORE INFORMATION

The Rules Wizard functionality is added using an add-in. When you remove the Rules Wizard Add-in, Inbox Assistant replaces it on the Tools menu. The Inbox Assistant allows the storage and processing of rules directly on the Exchange server.

Removing the Rules Wizard

To remove the Rules Wizard, follow these steps:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
  2. Click the Other tab, and then click Advanced Options.
  3. Click Add-In Manager.
  4. Click to click the Rules Wizard check box, and click OK three times to close all dialog boxes.
The Inbox Assistant now replaces the Rules Wizard.
