Xcon: SCLRejectEnabled Setting reset when new Hub is installed

Expand all | Collapse all

Symptom

In an environment where the AntiSpam settings have been intentionally customized by unchecking the  "Reject messages that have an SCL rating greater than or equal to:" , you will find after installing a new Hub Transport server into the environment, that this check box has been repopulated.

<*note: Microsoft does not recommend removing this setting>

Cause

The default is for the SCL settings to be functional.

New servers are populated with the default settings, and the Hub Transport setup does not check for a pre-existing server attribute in this area.

Resolution

Microsoft acknowledges that this is a problem.

To work around this issue, if you wish to turn off SCL ratings in your environment,  uncheck the "Reject messages that have an SCL rating greater than or equal to:" box after installing a new Hub server.
