The Dr. Watson Icon Is Missing From the Taskbar

SYMPTOMS

If you use Task Scheduler to schedule the Dr. Watson tool to run automatically when you start your computer, the Dr. Watson icon may be missing from the right-side of the taskbar.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, start Dr. Watson manually or schedule it to run at a time other than when you start your computer:

Start Dr. Watson Manually

  1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click System Information.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Dr. Watson.

Change Schedule in Task Scheduler

To set a specific schedule for Dr. Watson to run using Task Scheduler:
  1. Double-click Task Scheduler in the right-side of the taskbar, and then double-click Scheduled Task.
  2. In the Scheduled Task Wizard, click Next, browse to the Drwatson.exe file in the Windows folder, and then follow the instrucions on the screen to finish the wizard.
