SYMPTOMS

If you create a new message from within Windows Address Book and then quit Windows Address Book, the message you created is also closed. You receive no prompt when the new message is closed. You may lose any text contained in the new message.

CAUSE

Windows Address Book mistakenly closes the new message.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, do not quit Windows Address Book while you are composing a message that was created from within Windows Address Book.

Or, you can close the message and click Yes when you are prompted to save the message. You can then quit Windows Address Book and continue editing the message by opening it from the Drafts folder.

STATUS

This problem was corrected in Outlook Express version 5.
