Problems Using ATI Rage Pro Turbo Video Adapter as Secondary Adapter

When you try to use an ATI Rage Pro Turbo video adapter with a television output and SEC 811 SGRAM as the secondary adapter in a multiple-monitor configuration, you may experience one of the following symptoms on the secondary display:

• Horizontal banding that may appear similar to an incorrect monitor frequency setting.
• Garbled or unreadable display.

This issue can occur if your ATI Rage Pro Turbo video adapter uses Mitsubishi 8ns SGRAM. A timing problem exists with the Mitsubishi 8ns SGRAM that can generate the behavior listed earlier in this article when used in a multiple-monitor configuration.

To resolve this issue, contact ATI to inquire about the availability of a fix for this issue.

To try to work around this issue, reduce the screen area setting in Display Properties:

1. Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Display.
2. Click your secondary video adapter in the Display box, and then reduce your screen area by using the Screen area slider.
3. Click OK, and then restart your computer.
