Exchange Options Are Not Available in Active Directory Users and Computers MMC Snap-in

When you are using the Active Directory (AD) Users and Computers snap-in in Microsoft Management Console (MMC), you may not be able to add, delete, or move an Exchange mailbox.

This occurs when you are administering users where the Exchange System Management tools have not yet been installed. For example, if you install Microsoft Exchange on a member server, and then use the Active Directory Users and Computers MMC snap-in on a domain controller, you do not see the Exchange extensions.

To work around this problem:

• Start the Active Directory Users and Computers MMC snap-in from the Exchange member server. -or-
  
  
• Install the Exchange System Management tools on the domain controller.
