When you attempt to install the Microsoft Office 2000 Service Release
1 (SR-1) Update, you may receive the following error message:
The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk
that is not available. Insert the Microsoft Word 2000 disk and click OK.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if the following conditions are true:
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, update the version of Windows Installer that
is installed on your computer, and then reinstall the Office 2000 SR-1
Update.
To update the version of Windows Installer that is installed on your computer, visit the appropriate Microsoft Web site for your operating system: Microsoft Windows 95 or Microsoft Windows 98

After you install the updated version of Windows Installer, reinstall
the Office 2000 SR-1 Update.
When you are prompted to insert the Microsoft Word 2000 CD-ROM, insert the Works Suite 2000 Disc 1 CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive, and then follow the instructions on the screen to install the Office 2000 SR-1 Update. NOTE: If you are using an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) version of Works Suite 2000, please refer to your computer manufacturer to determine the location of Works Suite 2000 Disc 1 on your recovery disk. | Article Translations
