OL2000: The Default Flag Time for Messages Is Late in the Day

When you flag a message for follow up, and set a Due by date, the default time for the reminder flag may be 5:00 P.M., or some other time that is later in the day.

This behavior occurs because the time that is used for flags is taken from the calendar work week that is set in the Calendar Options dialog box.

To work around this behavior, manually change the reminder time in the Due by box when you set the flag on the message.

To change the calendar work week, on the Tools menu, click Options, and then click Calendar Options. Make the changes that you want in the Calendar Options dialog box.

To set a message flag with a specific time:

1. Open the message from your Inbox.
2. Click the Flag for Follow Up button.
3. In the Flag to list, click one of the options.
4. Click the arrow to the right of the Due by box, and then choose a date from the Calendar Control dialog box.
   
   NOTE: The Due by time is listed as the End time.
5. Click OK.

NOTE: Reminders for flagged messages only occur for messages that are in your default Inbox.
