Windows File Protection May Not Copy Word Breaker Files

When you install Windows 2000, the Setup program may not copy word breaker files from the I386\Lang folder to the dynamic-link library (DLL) cache. In addition, the first time you run System File Checker, it may not add these files to the DLL cache.

This behavior occurs regardless of the amount of free space on the drive, the size of the DLL cache or the source of the installation files.

To work around this problem, manually expand the appropriate files and place them in the DLL cache by using the following steps:

1. Open a command prompt.
2. Change to the CD-ROM drive that contains the Windows 2000 CD-ROM.
3. Change to the I386\Lang folder.
4. Type the following commands, pressing ENTER after each command:
   expand chs\chsbrkr.dl_ c:\winnt\system32\dllcache\chsbrkr.dll
   
   expand cht\chtbrkr.dl_ c:\winnt\system32\dllcache\chtbrkr.dll
   
   expand kor\korwbrkr.dl_ c:\winnt\system32\dllcache\korwbrkr.dll
   
   expand tha\thawbrkr.dl_ c:\winnt\system32\dllcache\thawbrkr.dll
   NOTE: These commands assume that Windows 2000 is installed on drive C in a Winnt folder.
