Works 6: Web Links in Word Processor Document Do Not Work

SYMPTOMS

When you open a Microsoft Works Word Processor document and you then click a Web link in the document, the link may not work, and you receive no error message.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur when your computer is running low on system resources.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, follow these steps:
  1. Quit any other programs that may be running on your computer.
  2. Start Windows Explorer.
  3. Browse to find the Temp folder.
  4. Select all of the .tmp files.
  5. Right-click any file.
  6. On the shortcut menu, click Delete.
  7. When the message appears, click Yes.
  8. Repeat steps 3 through 7 for the Temporary Internet Files folder.
  9. Start Works Word Processor and attempt to use a link.
  10. If the link does not work as expected, quit all programs and restart your computer.
