Unattended Setup Restarts Computer During the Network Configuration

SYMPTOMS

When you run an unattended installation, the computer may restart during the "Network Configuration" portion of Setup.

CAUSE

This problem can occur if you have specified the following parameter in your Unattend.txt file and Setup is unable to locate a network connection to apply it to:
[<I BRACKET="YES">params.adapter instance]]]</I>&gt;<BR/> <![CDATA[ConnectionName = "<I BRACKET="YES">network connection name</I>"

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, do not use the parameter that is listed earlier in this article in a Unattend.txt file, or use a different network adapter.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
