Works: How to Create a Shortcut to the Works Word Processor

Microsoft Works Word Processor is part of the Standard version of Microsoft Works. However, because Microsoft Word 2000 is a component of Microsoft Works Suite, Word 2000 is the default word processor and the Works Word Processor is not used.

This article describes how to create a shortcut to the Works Word Processor.

To create a shortcut to the Works Word Processor:

1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. In the Open box, type
   c:\program files\microsoft works
3. Click OK.
4. Right-click the Wkswp.exe file, and then click Create Shortcut.
5. Drag the Shortcut to Wkswp.exe file to the desktop.
6. Close the Microsoft Works window.
