Article ID: 283140 - Last Review: January 29, 2007 - Revision: 3.2 Works: Word 2000 Cannot Merge Multiple Works Databases or Merge the Same Works Database TwiceThis article was previously published under Q283140 SYMPTOMS After you merge a Microsoft Works Database into a Microsoft
Word 2000 document by using the Works Task Launcher wizard, you cannot merge a
different Works Database or an update of the same database into the same
document. CAUSE This behavior occurs because the Word 2000 merge process
converts the Works Database into an .mdb (Microsoft Access) format and places
the .mdb file in the Windows Temp folder. This converted database file is then used as the linked file for the Word 2000 merged document. RESOLUTION To resolve this issue, use the Works Task Launcher wizard
to create a new merge. To work around this issue, use the Works Word Processor for the mail merge process. Although the Works Word Processor is not part of the Works Suite 2001 Task Launcher, the Works Word Processor is installed on the computer.
