When you use a computer running Windows 2000, an existing connection may be dropped when you attempt to make a second connection from the same computer.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because the second connection attempt disconnects the first while the first session setup is authenticating the user.

In a network trace, there is a session setup command server message block (SMB) followed by a Negotiate Dialect SMB on a second session setup. When the first session is disconnected, the network trace contains a reset.
