When you perform a debug operation on a domain controller, you may experience a greater degree of performance degradation than you expect.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because of the numerous "page heap created" and "page heap destroyed" messages that are generated during the debug operation.
RESOLUTION
The following hotfix turns off the creation of unnecessary output messages. As a result, the rate of page heap creation and page heap deletion is significantly increased. To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: 260910
