Client UpdateIf you installed Office XP from a CD-ROM, you have two options:
Office Product UpdatesTo have the Office Product Updates Web site detect the required updates that you must install on your computer, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
http://office.microsoft.com/ProductUpdates/default.aspxAfter detection is complete, you receive a list of recommended updates for your approval. Click Start Installation to complete the process.
Install Only Office XP Speller UpdateThis update requires that Microsoft Office XP Service Pack 1 (SP-1) be installed.

Administrative UpdateIf you installed Microsoft Office XP from a server location, the server administrator must update the server location with the administrative public update and deploy that update to your computer.

How to Determine Whether the Public Update Is InstalledThis update replaces the Mssp3en.lex, Mssp3ena.lex, and Msspell3.dll files.
To determine whether this update has been applied, verify that the version of Msspell3.dll is 18.104.22.16815. To verify the properties of Msspell3.dll, find Msspell3.dll. By default, this file is located in the following folder:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\ProofAfter you find Msspell3.dll, right-click the file, and then click Properties on the shortcut menu.
