Service Pack 3 Includes Updates to Several Windows 2000 Deployment Tools

SUMMARY

The Windows 2000 Resource Kit Deployment Tools assist system administrators with installing Windows 2000 on multiple computers. Service Pack 3 (SP3) for Microsoft Windows 2000 includes updates to the following Deployment Tools:

Sysprep.exe
Setupcl.exe

MORE INFORMATION

The Deployment Tools are not automatically installed when you install SP3 for Windows 2000.

IMPORTANT: Do not run these tools on Windows 2000 Datacenter Server without first consulting your Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM).

The updated support tools are available in the Support\Tools\Deploy.cab file on the Windows 2000 SP3 CD-ROM. You can also download the file by visiting the following Microsoft Web site:

The Windows 2000 Deployment Tools Help file (Deploy.chm), which is located in the Deploy.cab file, provides a description of each file and its associated syntax, sample output, and notes. The English version of this fix has the file attributes (or later) that are listed in the following table. The dates and times for these files are listed in coordinated universal time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.
