SUMMARY

Microsoft Works for Windows allows you to specify a range of cells in a spreadsheet to use for data labels for the value (Y) series on a chart. However, to place data labels on only specific categories, you must use an additional spreadsheet range.

MORE INFORMATION

For example, if you chart a series of four entries and you want to place a data label over only the fourth entry, you must create a new four-cell range where the first three cells are blank and the fourth cell contains the information for the data label. You then specify this range as the data label series. You can insert any type of information into the newly-created data label range, regardless of how the charted series information is formatted.
