Windows SharePoint Services (WSS) server that is located outside your network
or on a restricted site, you may receive the following message:Additionally, if a user tries to open a
shared attachment or local document workspace document where the workspace is
located on a restricted WSS server or a server outside their network, the user
may not be able to receive updates for the shared attachment. CAUSEThis issue occurs because the document workspace is located
on a server that is not on a trusted site, or is on a restricted site according
to the Internet security settings on your computer. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, use one of the following
methods. Note Modifying the security settings on your computer can have a serious effect on the vulnerability of your computer. Make sure that you understand the security implications before you add a site to your trusted sites or make changes to the security settings on your computer. Method 1: Locate the Document Workspace on a Non-Restricted SiteIf you can locate the document workspace in a location that you know is not restricted by the users, this is the preferred method to resolve this issue.Method 2: Add the Document Workspace Site to your Trusted SitesImportant Make sure that you understand the security implications of doing this before you continue.
