An incomplete list of associated running programs is displayed when you remove a program in Windows Server 2003Article ID: 839962 - View products that this article applies to. On This PageSYMPTOMSWhen you try to remove a program from your Microsoft Windows Server 2003-based computer while associated program components are still running, you may receive a message in a dialog box that displays an incomplete list of running programs, as in the following example: When more than one associated program component is running, only one of the associated programs is listed in the dialog box. The one associated program that is listed may appear multiple times. CAUSEThis problem occurs because the function call to retrieve the title of the window that is related to the running program is not reinitialized correctly. Therefore, no call is made to obtain the window title for the next running process.
RESOLUTIONHotfix informationA supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing.
