Description of the Microsoft Windows Registry SYMPTOMSWhen you start Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 for the first time, you do not receive the "Welcome to Microsoft Office Outlook 2003" e-mail message in your Inbox folder. CAUSEThis issue occurs if you installed Microsoft Office 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1) on your computer before you started Outlook 2003 for the first time. NoteIf you start Outlook 2003 before you install Office 2003 SP1, you do receive the “Welcome to Microsoft Office Outlook 2003” e-mail message in your Inbox folder. WORKAROUNDWarning If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk. If you want to receive the “Welcome to Microsoft Office Outlook 2003” e-mail message in your Inbox folder, you must configure a registry value on the workstation before you start Outlook 2003.
