On This PageSYMPTOMSOn your Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server computer, the available memory decreases gradually over time. This symptom may be especially noticeable on a public folder server. When the available memory becomes too low, you must restart your server to regain functionality. CAUSEThis problem occurs because allocated memory
is not freed correctly when a specific Exchange 2000 function is called. The function is called every time that a replication message is sent. Therefore, the symptom is more noticeable on a public folder server, where both content replication and hierarchy replication occur. RESOLUTIONHotfix informationA supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.If the hotfix is available for download, there is a "Hotfix download available" section at the top of this Knowledge Base article.
