Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 2.

If you use DBCS characters in the Use this name field in Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5 while you are in a mixed Microsoft Exchange environment, the DBCS value is replicated in Exchange 2000. However, you cannot input or modify DBCS characters in the Public Folder property in Exchange 2000.
