How to display Arabic characters correctly on Outlook XP and restore folders default name.

The user will see upper ASCII characters when the application is attempting to map the Arabic letters to the current code page, Since Outlook XP is not a Unicode application so it is required to set the system Code page to Arabic to display the Arabic characters correctly.

When you run Arabic localized Outlook XP for the first time on a new account on Microsoft Exchange server the folders created are Arabic localized (eg. Inbox folder) to reset the folder names to English you need to do the following steps from English localized Microsoft Outlook XP:

1. Make sure you close Outlook application.
2. Click on Start -> Run
3. Then type the command Outlook /ResetOutlookBarand press enter.

To display Arabic characters coreectly on Microosft Outlook XP you need to change the language settings for non-unicode applications by the following setps:

For Windows XP:

1. Go to Control Panel and click on “Regional and Language Options”.
2. Go to Languages tab and make sure that “install files for complex script and right-to-left languages” is already checked.
3. Go to Advanced tab and select “Arabic (your country)" then Press OK.

For Windows 2000:

1. Go to Control Panel and click on Regional Options.
2. In General tab, make sure that Arabic is selected in “Languages settings for the system”.
3. Press on Set Default button.
4. In “Select System Locale” widow, select “Arabic (your country)” then press "OK".
