A DDA of type ACP-PLAD is removed from a recipient's address when you use an X.400 connection to send a message through a bridgehead server that is running Exchange Server 2003

Consider a scenario where the following conditions are true:

• You send a message from a Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5 mailbox server to a recipient who is outside your Exchange organization.
• This recipient has an address for which the following two Domain Defined Attributes (DDA) are configured:
  • One DDA of type MSXCX500
  • One DDA of type ACP-PLAD
• This message is sent to the remote organization through a bridgehead server that is running Exchange Server 2003.
• This message is sent to the remote organization through an X.400 connector.

When this message is sent to the remote recipient, the DDA of type ACP-PLAD is removed. In this scenario, the value of the type ACP-PLAD DDA is concatenated to the value of the type MSXCX500 DDA.

For example, consider the following network topology:You send a message to a recipient who has a recipient address that is similar to the following example address:When this problem occurs, this recipient address is changed to the following:You expect the DDA of type ACP-PLAD to remain intact when you send the message to the remote recipient.

This problem occurs because Exchange Server 2003 does not correctly handle multiple DDA fields for an X.400 recipient address.
