Expand all | Collapse all

SYMPTOMS

A public folder rule that responds with a template does not work when the rule replicates to a server that is running Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server.

CAUSE

This problem may occur when the Exchange 2000 server has a synchronous store event sink installed. In this scenario, a conflict between the synchronous store event sink and the public folder rule may exist.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use one or more of the following methods:
  • If it is possible, remove the synchronous store event sink.
  • Reinstall the synchronous store event sink.
  • If it is possible, use only one instance of the public folder that has a public folder rule configured. Do not use replicas of the public folder.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

APPLIES TO
  • Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Standard Edition
