SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. You use the backup functionality to save Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server configuration parameters on a computer that is running ISA Server 2004. You install ISA Server 2004 Service Pack 2 (SP2). Then, you restore the configuration parameters that you backed up. In this scenario, the Web filters that are installed with ISA Server 2004 SP2 are missing.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because the ISA Server 2004 SP2 Web filters are available after you restore the file that you backed up, but the Web filters are no longer registered.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, you must reregister the Web filters. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, click Run, type cmd in the Open box, and then click OK.
  2. Change to the Microsoft ISA Server folder. The Microsoft ISA Server folder is typically located in the C:\Program Files folder.
  3. Type the following commands. Press ENTER after each line:
    • regsvr32 comphp.dll –i –n
    • regsvr32 comphp.dll
    • regsvr32 complp.dll –i –n
    • regsvr32 complp.dll
    • regsvr32 diffserv.dll –i –n
    • regsvr32 diffserv.dll
