Error message when you start SoftGrid Client Management: "MMC could not create the snap-in"

SYMPTOMS

When you start SoftGrid Client Management, you receive the following error message:
MMC could not create the snap-in. The snap-in might not have been installed correctly.
Name: SoftGrid Client Management
CLSID: {F7E7A18B-F9AA-45C7-A234-CE2082268844}

CAUSE

When SoftGrid Client Management version 4.1.0.48 is installed as a part of the SoftGrid Virtual Application Server installation, the Sftxml.dll file is missing from the installation directory.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
  1. Install Microsoft SoftGrid for Windows Desktops version 4.1.0.48 on a different system, or install Microsoft SoftGrid for Terminal Services version 4.1.0.48 on a different system.
  2. Copy the Sftxml.dll file from the following directory of SoftGrid for Windows Desktops or of SoftGrid for Terminal Services:
    %ProgramFiles%\Softricity\<SoftGrid for Windows Desktops or SoftGrid for Terminal Servers>
  3. Paste the copy of the Sftxml.dll file in the following directory of SoftGrid Virtual Application Server:
    %ProgramFiles%\Softricity\SoftGrid Client Management Console
