Error message when you try to open an .sprj file by using the Sequencer in SoftGrid: "The Sequencer could not create an instance of the DOM DOC Document"

SYMPTOMS

When you try to open an .sprj file by using the Sequencer, the operation is unsuccessful. Additionally, you receive the following error message:
The Sequencer could not create an instance of the DOM DOC Document.
The Sequencer will now close.

CAUSE

This issue may occur if a directory path that is specified in the .sprj file does not exist or is inaccessible.

This condition may occur when an .sprj file is created on a system that is running Microsoft Windows 2000 (C:\WINNT) and is opened later on a system that is running Microsoft Windows Server 2003 (C:\WINDOWS).

Additionally, this condition may occur if the following conditions are true:
  • The .sprj file is created when the Sequencer is installed to the following folder:
    C:\Program Files\Softricity\SoftGrid Sequencer
  • The .sprj file is opened later when the Sequencer is installed to the following folder:
    D:\Program Files\Softricity\SoftGrid Sequencer

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, edit the .sprj file by using a text editor to correct the paths for the following NAME attributes of the DEFAULT elements:
  • AdditionalVSFFiles
  • LogPath
  • DocRoot
  • SequencerRoot
  • ScratchFolder
For example, the AdditionalVSFFiles attribute may appear as follows. 
<DEFAULT Name="AdditionalVSFFiles" Value="C:\WINNT\system32\cabinet.dll; C:\WINNT\system32\msi.dll;C:\WINNT\system32\msiexec.exe;C:\WINNT\system32 \msihnd.dll;C:\WINNT\system32\msimsg.dll"/>
Change this attribute to appear as follows.
<DEFAULT Name="AdditionalVSFFiles" Value="C:\WINDOWS\system32\cabinet.dll; C:\WINDOWS\system32\msi.dll;C:\WINDOWS\system32\msiexec.exe;C:\WINDOWS\system32\msihnd.dll;C:\WINDOWS\system32\msimsg.dll"/>
The SequencerRoot attribute may appear as follows. 
<DEFAULT Name="SequencerRoot" Value="C:\Program Files\Softricity\SoftGrid Sequencer"/>
Change this attribute to appear as follows.
<DEFAULT Name="SequencerRoot" Value="D:\Program Files\Softricity\SoftGrid Sequencer"/>
