Error message when you try to import a package that has been upgraded multiple times in SoftGrid: "Error code: 0000BD39"

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft SoftGrid, you try to import a package that has been upgraded multiple times. When you do this, you may receive the following error message:
The version lineage specified for Package (GUID) is invalid. Error code: 0000BD39

CAUSE

This problem may occur if the package was previously upgraded and imported in the SoftGrid console 20 or more times.

RESOLUTION

This issue was resolved starting with build 4.1.2.20 of the SoftGrid Server that is included in the latest version of SoftGrid 4.1 Service Pack 1 (SP1) and SoftGrid 4.2. Only SoftGrid Server builds before 4.1.2.20 experience this issue. For more information about SoftGrid 4.1 SP1, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, you must re-sequence the program. Or, you can click Save As and then branch the package as a new package when you save it.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
