INTRODUCTION

This Web console hotfix package for Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007 resolves the issues that are described in the "More information" section. Because this package is cumulative, details are also provided for those fixes that have already been released and that are superseded by this package.

The following issues are resolved in this hotfix package:
  • When you use the Web console to view performance data of a single agent, instances of counters for other agents are displayed because the dialog box that displays the counters is scoped incorrectly. Additionally, if the total number of returned counter objects is greater than 500, it may become impossible to select the required counters because they may not be included in the selection.
  • When you select a diagram view for a Windows Computer object, the Windows Computer object that is displayed in the resulting diagram may not be the object that is selected.
  • When you view a State View on the Web console, and the view criteria includes the with a specific health state setting, the view may be empty. Or, the view may not display the same behavior as the same view when it is rendered on the Operations Manager console.

    Objects that are displayed in a performance view are not scoped to the specified group when they are viewed in the Web Console of Operations Manager 2007 Service Pack 1
Note The Web console Server role is supported in Windows Server 2008 after you apply hotfix rollup package 954049. Hotfix rollup package 954049 should be applied on a Windows Server 2008-based computer that is running the Server role on the Web console. Make sure that you apply hotfix rollup package 954049 before you apply hotfix 955523.

Prerequisites

To apply this hotfix, you must have System Center Operations Manager 2007 Service Pack 1 installed. This hotfix must be applied on each computer that hosts a Microsoft Operations Manager Web console server.

Note If you apply this hotfix package on a Windows Server 2008-based computer on which User Account Control (UAC) is enabled, you must run the hotfix package installer at a command prompt by using the Run as Administrator option.

Restart requirement

You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this hotfix.

Hotfix replacement information

This hotfix does not replace a previously released hotfix.

To extract the files that are contained in this hotfix package, follow these steps:
  1. Copy the SystemCenterOperationsManager2007-SP1-KB955523-X86-X64-ENU.msi file to either a local folder or an available network shared folder.
  2. Run the SystemCenterOperationsManager2007-SP1-KB955523-X86-X64-ENU.msi file locally on each applicable computer that meets the predefined criteria.

    Note You can run the SystemCenterOperationsManager2007-SP1-KB955523-X86-X64-ENU.msi file from either Windows Explorer or at a command prompt.
