Error message when you try to set the value of the MaxRecordingDuration parameter to less than five minutes: “MaxRecordingDuration(1) is out of range: [5,100].”

SYMPTOMS

In an Exchange Server 2007 environment that has unified messaging deployed, you cannot set the value of the MaxRecordingDuration parameter to less than five minutes. When you try to do this, you receive the following error message:
MaxRecordingDuration(1) is out of range: [5,100].

For example, if you run the following command in Exchange Management Shell:
Set-UMDialPlan -Identity <DialPlan name> -MaxRecordingDuration 1
You receive the following error message:
Set-UMDialPlan : Cannot bind parameter 'MaxRecordingDuration' to the target. Exception setting "MaxRecordingDuration": "MaxRecordingDuration(x) is out of range: [5,100]."

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, install Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 2 (SP2). You can access the following Microsoft Web site to download Exchange Server 2007 SP2:

Note After you install Exchange Server 2007 SP2, the range of the MaxRecordingDuration parameter is set from one minute to 100 minutes.
