Describes an issue in which if the first name of a user has a certain suffix string, the string will be recognized as an incorrect suffix when you try to add the user as a Contact in Outlook 2007

In Microsoft Office Outlook 2007, you search a user in the global address list (GAL) and then try to add the user as a contact. If the first name of the user starts with a certain character string, such as "jun", the string will be recognized as a suffix. In this case, the user name will be displayed incorrectly in the Full Name box in the Contact window.

For example, the user name may be displayed incorrectly as "Jun firstname Jun lastname" in the Full Name box.

1. Start Registry Editor.
   • In Windows Vista, click Start

     If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or provide confirmation.
   • In Windows XP, click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.
2. Locate and then select one of the following registry subkeys as appropriate:
   HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\Preferences
   If you use policies, select the following registry subkey:
   HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\Preferences
   Note Both these registry keys perform the same function.
3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
4. Type AddToContactsWithParse, and then press ENTER.
5. Right-click AddToContactsWithParse, and then click Modify.
6. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.
7. Exit Registry Editor.
