The OU property of the DDR is rejected by DDM when the DDR is being inserted in System Center Configuration Manager 2007

SYMPTOMS

When you create a Data Discovery Record (DDR) for an object in a directory in Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007, the OU property of the DDR is rejected by the Discovery Data Manager (DDM) when the DDR is being inserted into the database.

Additionally, you receive an error message that resembles the following in the Ddm.log file:

CDiscoveryPropertyBase::Validate - Max width of property "<property name>" exceeds 900 characters

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the array length of the DDR exceeds 900 characters. This lenght limit should be applied to each element of the array. However, the limit is applied to the whole array.
