Outline Code levels may be lost when you try to change the Enterprise Outline Code directly in Microsoft Project 2002

SYMPTOMS

When you try to change the Enterprise Outline Code directly in a Microsoft Project Server 2002 database, you may experience one of the following symptoms:
  • Data that is designated at certain outline code levels may be lost.

    -or-
  • When you try to open the Lookup Table dialog box, Microsoft Project 2002 may stop responding.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if you do either of the following:
  • You make changes to the order of the CODE_UID programmatically.

    -or-
  • You make changes to the order of the CODE_UID externally to Project 2002; for example, in Microsoft Access.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Project 2002 service pack that contains this hotfix.

When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.
