If you navigate down the public folder hierarchy by using the Exchange Server Administrator program and click a particular public folder, you may receive the following error message:
The client operation failed.
Microsoft Exchange Server Information Store ID no: 8004010f-0501-00000000 CAUSE
You may receive this error message if the following conditions exist:
RESOLUTION
This behavior is by design. If a public folder is marked as secure (that is, the Limit Administrative Access to Home Site check box is selected) and you connect to a server in a site other than the public folder's home site, you are not given extra privileges based on the fact that you are an administrator. Your permissions are then controlled based purely on public folder access control lists (ACLs), and because the ACL in this case has visibility turned off, even the Exchange Server Administrator program is unable to see the public folder in the hierarchy.
