When you delete a mailbox from a server that is running Exchange Server 2003 or Exchange 2000 Server, the mailbox still appears in Antigen

When you delete a mailbox from a server that is running Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 or Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server, the mailbox still appears in Antigen for Microsoft Exchange.

This issue occurs because Exchange Server 2003 and Exchange 2000 Server retain mailbox information for users who are no longer mail-enabled. Therefore, the mailbox still appears in Antigen.

To resolve this issue, remove the deleted mailbox from Exchange Server 2003 or from Exchange 2000 Server:

1. Start Exchange System Manager.
2. In the left pane, click Administrative Groups, and then click the administrative group that contains the deleted mailbox.
3. Click Servers, and then click the server that contains the deleted mailbox.
4. Click the storage group that contains the deleted mailbox, and then click Mailbox Store.
5. Click Mailboxes.
   
   The deleted mailbox appears in the right pane. This mailbox is marked with a red “X”.
6. Right-click the deleted mailbox that you want to remove, point to All tasks, and then click Purge.
