You are using the Microsoft OLE DB provider for DB2 that is included in Microsoft Host Integration Server 2006 together with Microsoft SQL Server 2005. In this scenario, the server that is running SQL Server 2005 does not call a stored procedure on decimal fields. Additionally, you receive an error message that resembles the following: OLE DB provider "DB2OLEDB" for linked server "<LinkedServerName>" returned message "Data descriptor mismatch. SQLSTATE: HY000, SQLCODE: -292". RESOLUTIONHotfix informationA supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, it is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Host Integration Server 2006 service pack that contains this hotfix.To resolve this problem immediately, contact Microsoft Customer Support Services to obtain the hotfix.
