SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. You use Microsoft OLE DB Provider for DB2 to issue an SQL statement. The SQL statement includes a current time stamp and a parameterized WHERE clause. In this scenario, you may receive an error message that resembles the following:
SQLSTATE 07001, SQLCODE -313 : THE NUMBER OF HOST VARIABLES SPECIFIED IS NOT EQUAL TO THE NUMBER OF PARAMETER MARKERS
For example, this problem occurs if you issue the following SQL statement.
mySQLStatement &= "UPDATE USER1.TESTTABLE "
mySQLStatement &= "SET VALABC = ?, INSMAJ = CURRENT TIMESTAMP WHERE CODEVI = ?"
This problem does not occur if the WHERE clause uses a fixed value instead of a parameter.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because Microsoft OLE DB Provider for DB2 does not correctly parse an SQL statement that includes a current time stamp and a parameterized WHERE clause.
