Article ID: 943125 - Last Review: December 13, 2007 - Revision: 1.3 The XLANG Scheduler Engine enters an infinite loop, and a BizTalk Server 2006 process uses 100 percent of the CPU resources if a time-out exception is handled by a non-transactional scope
On This PageSYMPTOMSConsider the following scenario in Microsoft BizTalk Server
2006:
If the correlating message is not received within the time-out value that is specified and if the TimeoutException exception is thrown, the Microsoft BizTalk Server XLANG Scheduler Engine enters an infinite loop. This causes 100 percent of the CPU resources to be used. Additionally, the start orchestration shape in the exception handler of the non-transactional scope will not be hit. CAUSEThis problem occurs because the long-running transaction
scope has special logic to handle time-out exceptions. However, the
TimeoutException exception is not correctly handled by the non-transactional
scope. RESOLUTIONHotfix informationA supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article.
