SYMPTOMS

When you perform the Get Latest operation in Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server source control, you may receive a confusing message.

For example, you may experience this problem in the following scenario:
You create an empty C# project, and then you add the project to source control.
You add a new file to the project, and then you add some contents to the file.
In source control, you right-click the file, and then you click Shelve Pending Changes.
You add more contents to the file.
In source control you right-click the file, and then you click Undo Pending Changes.
On the File menu, you point to Source Control, and then you click Unshelve.

Note If multiple shelved records are listed, you select the one that you created earlier.
When a dialog box appears that states that you must solve conflicts, you click Solve conflicts, and then you click Ignore conflicts.
You right-click the file in source control, and then you click Get Latest operation.
You click Overwrite to overwrite local files.
In this scenario, you receive a message that states that source control will overwrite some files. However, the files are not in the source control.
