SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Commerce Server 2007, Customer and Orders Manager crashes when the OrderAddress field is displayed in Customer and Orders Manager. This problem occurs if the OrderAddress field contains an ampersand (&). When this problem occurs, the following event is logged in the Application log:

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the value of the OrderAddress field is not encoded in the Customer and Orders Manager code.

RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, it is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Commerce Server 2007 service pack that contains this hotfix.
