SYMPTOMS

You connect to a terminal server from a Microsoft Windows CE 5.0-based device. If you press the ALT key and click the left mouse button at the same time, the action that is associated with the right mouse button is triggered on the terminal server.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the Windows CE Terminal Services Client (CETSC) supports touch-panel displays. Because touch-panel displays do not have a right mouse button, a right mouse button click is simulated by pressing ALT and by tapping the touch panel. On a Windows CE 5.0-based device, tapping the touch panel is the same as clicking the left mouse button. Therefore, a Windows CE 5.0-based device that supports a two-button mouse interprets pressing the ALT key and clicking the left mouse button as clicking the right mouse button.
