Network bandwidth usage throttling may not work in System Center Data Protection Manager 2007 if some network ports are unused

Consider the following scenario:

• You enable network bandwidth usage throttling on a computer that is running Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager 2007.
• There are multiple network ports on the computer. One or more network ports are unused.

In this scenario, network bandwidth throttling may not work. For example, if you set the usage limitation to 2 megabytes (MB), the actual usage may be about 28 MB.

This problem occurs because there are network adapters into which cables are not plugged.

To work around this problem, disable any network adapters that are not being used on your computer.
