FIX: 404 error message when you start the Commerce Server 2007 Health Monitoring Service in Commerce Server 2007Article ID: 950231 - View products that this article applies to. On This PageSYMPTOMSIn Microsoft Commerce Server 2007, you use the Commerce Server Health Monitoring service to monitor the state of the Commerce Server 2007 Web services. When you try to start the Commerce Server 2007 Health Monitoring Service, you receive a 404 error message. CAUSEThis problem occurs because the Commerce Server Health Monitoring Service tries to access each Commerce Server 2007 Web service by using the computer name instead of the configured nonsecure host name. However, the computer name may be disabled for the Internet Information Services (IIS) Web site that hosts the Web services. RESOLUTIONHotfix informationA supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, it is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Commerce Server 2007 service pack that contains this hotfix.To resolve this problem immediately, contact Microsoft Customer Support Services to obtain the hotfix.
